FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN in Florida
We're thrilled to announce the opening of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN at McKee Botanical Garden in Vero Beach, marking the kickoff to the Garden's Centennial Celebration! McKee is the first garden in Florida to host FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN, featuring large-scale, origami-inspired metal sculptures by Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box.
The exhibition presents a fresh look at paper folding in the 21st century. Emerging butterflies, big birds, grazing deer, and blooming flowers celebrate the process of plant pollination through colorful, whimsical, and kinetic sculptures. These stunning works were created in collaboration with modern masters of paper folding: Te Jui Fu, Robert J. Lang, Michael G. LaFosse, and Beth Johnson.
Working with McKee's exceptional staff was truly inspiring. The administrative team coordinated countless details, the grounds crew expertly installed each piece, and the horticulture team used their creative genius to seamlessly integrate these giant metal sculptures into the landscape. Thanks also to the education, visitor services, café, and gift shop staff, along with the wonderful volunteers who made it all possible.
McKee Botanical Garden exemplifies what happens when a dedicated team comes together to create something extraordinary. We can't wait for visitors to experience FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN!
